FORT GIBSON, Okla. - Cherokee Casino & Hotel Fort Gibson will welcome Texas country rising star and "The Voice" winner Craig Wayne Boyd at 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at 3 Rivers Tavern inside the casino.
Boyd, the Dallas native and Nashville-based country music sensation, first captured America's heart as the Season 7 winner of NBC's "The Voice" on Blake Shelton's team. With his soulful voice, magnetic stage presence, and deep roots in gospel influences and country music heritage, Boyd has become one of the most versatile and authentic performers in the genre.
Raised in Mesquite, Texas, Boyd grew up immersed in gospel and country music, eventually directing his church choir and mastering multiple instruments. At 25, he moved to Nashville to pursue his dream, signing a publishing deal with EMI and touring with artists such as Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and Brantley Gilbert.
His breakthrough came in 2014 when his powerful performances on "The Voice" - including standout renditions of "The Old Rugged Cross" and "My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face" - propelled him to victory, cementing his place in the country music spotlight.
Following his win, Boyd signed with Universal Republic and Dot Records, releasing his first single, "My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. He went on to tour nationally, perform at the Grand Ole Opry and release fan-favorite singles, including "I'm Still Here." Blending traditional country roots with contemporary sounds, Boyd continues to resonate with fans across the country music spectrum.
Tickets are free to those 21 and older.
