Registration deadline is April 29
The Lincoln Commission on Human Rights (LCHR) will host the annual Civil Rights Conference May 8 and 9 at Nebraska Innovation Campus, 2021 Transformation Dr. This year's theme is "A Place to Belong."
The May 8 event is from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and features keynote speaker Dr. Helen Fagan, a leadership, emotional intelligence, and cultural competency scholar and practitioner. Fagan's presentation is entitled "CommUNITY."

The May 9 event is from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and features keynote speaker, Joshua V. Barr, an Emmy and national award-winning transformational leader who has trained people on human rights issues from all 50 states and five continents. Barr's presentation is entitled "From Me to We: Igniting Collaboration for the Progression of All."
Session topics and presentations on May 9 include:
The Conference will include the presentation of the Gerald Henderson Human Rights Award, which honors a person, organization or group that has made significant achievements in promoting human rights in our community. The $125 registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, and conference materials on both days. Professional continuing education credits are being requested for this event.
