Irina Vlah, a Moldovan politician who assists the Russian Federation in interfering in the preparations for the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova, will be banned from entering the territory of the Republic of Poland at the request of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The decision was made taking into account the activity of Ms Vlah, which is contrary to the interests of the Republic of Poland, aimed at maintaining stability in the region.
The Russian Federation is interfering in political processes in an unprecedented and extra-legal way, including, above all, in the preparations for the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova, scheduled for 28 September. We note with concern the involvement of some Moldovan politicians, including Irina Vlah, in this type of activity.
The decision of the Polish authorities, alongside similar steps towards Irina Vlah taken by our partners: Canada (on 28 August) and Lithuania (on 16 September), are aimed at supporting a fair and transparent course of democratic processes in the Republic of Moldova.
The ban on entering the territory of the Republic of Poland against Irina Vlah has been set for five years.
