City of Tampa Extends Closures to Monday as Hurricane Milton Recovery Continues News Emergency Management, News General, News Parks and Recreation, News Solid Waste Due to[...]

Due to ongoing recovery efforts from Hurricane Milton, all City of Tampa offices and facilities will remain closed for regular operations on Monday, October 14, 2024. This closure includes all City of Tampa Parks & Recreation facilities and programming, including after school care.

The City expects to resume normal business operations on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. However, due to ongoing debris removal and power outages, only a limited number of Parks facilities will reopen. Residents can visit Tampa.gov/parks for the list of parks that will reopen on Tuesday.

The City of Tampa Department of Solid Waste will resume residential garbage and recycling services on Monday, October 14. Collection of hurricane debris will continue. To assist with the process, residents are reminded to separate damaged household items and construction debris from vegetative storm debris and place them curbside, at least three feet away from any obstructions such as parked vehicles.

Drive-through Point of Distribution Sites (PODS) will continue to operate daily from 7 AM to 7 PM at the following locations:

  • Gandy Boat Ramp (5108 W Gandy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33611)
  • Al Lopez Park (4810 N Himes Ave., Tampa, FL 33614)

Supplies such as water, MREs, ice, and tarps will be distributed while supplies last.
