The Spanish Government congratulates Joseph Aoun, new President of Lebanon
Today
The Government of Spain welcomes the decision of the Lebanese Parliament to elect a new President of the Lebanese Republic.
The Government congratulates Joseph Aoun on his election and wishes to continue working closely with the Lebanese authorities in favour of peace, sovereignty and stability in Lebanon and the region as a whole.
Spain remains committed to the reconstruction and prosperity of Lebanon. The appointment of the new Lebanese authorities is a key step in advancing the economic reforms that the country needs.
