The proposed works comprise repairs and enhancement to existing sea defences along
the southern bank of the River Bann, adjacent to the Coleraine-Derry railway line. The
scheme involves construction of approximately 175 m of double-interlocking rip-rap rock
armour revetment, installed over the existing embankment slope and tied into existing
defences at both ends.

Project Description: The works at Translink Sea Defences - Section 14C2 comprise the repair and strengthening of existing coastal railway defences along the south bank of the River Bann, approximately 4.3 km northwest of Coleraine, at Irish Grid Reference C 84383 33533. The project involves installing approximately 175 m of new double-interlocking primary rock armour over the existing revetment slope, including re-grading of the embankment, removal of failed defences, localised vegetation clearance, and placement of toe and face rock armour to protect the Coleraine-Derry railway line.
