AIA President and CEO Commends New Commerce Rules to Advance American Space Leadership

Arlington, Va. - Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today released the following comment after the U.S. Department of Commerce issued new rules to modernize space-related export controls:

"The United States of America has always been the leader in space technology, and today's rules from the Commerce Department will help us expand that technological leadership into the future. These rules - and ones like them - take a tailored approach to facilitate more trade with our closest allies and partners while still protecting national security. The Aerospace Industries Association is encouraged by today's announcement, and we look forward to working with the Commerce Department to showcase the remarkable advancements of the American space industry."
