Getty Images Photographers Earn 45 Top Honors Across Leading Global Photojournalism Competitions

New York - June 2, 2026: Getty Images (NYSE: GETY), a preeminent global visual content creator and marketplace, today announced that its world-class team of photographers earned 45 honors across the industry's leading photojournalism competitions in 2026, reinforcing the company's position as a primary source of accurate, real-time visual reporting for global media and organizations.

This year's winning work featured breaking news, politics, feature storytelling and major global sporting events from 17 staff photographers, with a total of 13 first place wins. Andrew Harnik and Julian Finney took home key distinctions, winning Political Portfolio of the Year and Sports Photographer of the Year.

Harnik's dominance across several competitions, such as the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) Journalism Awards, the White House News Photographers Association (WHNPA) Still Photography Awards and the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) Best of Photojournalism Competition, exemplifies the unique dedication and specialism required to document the complexities of politics in Washington, D.C. His portfolio spans the defining moments, unscripted tensions, and quiet in-between scenes that shape governance and public life in America, providing a trusted, accurate visual record that informs, challenges and endures.

Finney's top accolades for this year's SJA British Sports Journalism Awards showcases his innate ability to push the boundaries of visual storytelling, producing the kinds of images that don't just document events but define how they will be remembered. His artistry and instinctive anticipation, coupled with Getty Images' rare access at major sporting events and real-time distribution capabilities, creates a perspective that feels both authoritative and distinct.

Getty Images Global Head of Editorial Ken Mainardis said, "These results reflect consistent performance across the most competitive editorial environments. Recognition from independent institutions matters because it validates the accuracy, speed and reliability our customers depend on. In a market where trust in imagery is under pressure, that standard is the product."
