Financing will Support Equipment Used to Provide Services for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Across New York State
ALBANY, N.Y. - The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) today announced the closing of $22.8 million in tax-exempt lease financing on behalf of NYSARC, Inc., d/b/a The Arc New York. The financing will support the purchase of vehicles, technology and other equipment used to provide services across its statewide network.
The Arc New York is a nonprofit organization that provides services, support and advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout New York.
DASNY provided the financing through its Tax-Exempt Leasing Program (TELP), which helps eligible nonprofit organizations finance vehicles, technology and other equipment at lower borrowing costs.
DASNY President & CEO Robert J. Rodriguez said: "The Arc New York and its chapters provide essential services that support people and families in communities across New York. Through TELP, DASNY can help organizations invest in the vehicles, technology and equipment they need to carry out that work. We are proud to continue our longstanding partnership with The Arc New York and support its work serving New Yorkers with intellectual and developmental disabilities."
The Arc New York CEO Erik Geizer said: "The vehicles, technology and equipment supported through TELP are essential to delivering high-quality services and supports in communities across New York State. This investment will help our Chapters strengthen their operations, enhance their services, and continue meeting the evolving needs of the people and families they support. We are grateful to DASNY for its longstanding partnership and continued investment in our mission of providing people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities the ordinary and extraordinary opportunities of life."
The Arc New York is a long-time DASNY financing client. Earlier this year, DASNY closed a $14.5 million revenue bond financing on behalf of NYSARC to support improvements at 21 facilities operated by nine participating chapters across New York.
Since 1995, DASNY's Tax-Exempt Leasing Program has helped finance more than $3.6 billion in equipment for health care facilities, higher education institutions and other eligible nonprofit organizations. TELP helps organizations finance a range of needs, including vehicles, information technology, medical and laboratory equipment and other capital equipment.
