The City of Tampa is pulling out all the stops to celebrate America's 250th anniversary with "Liberty by the Bay," a high-energy, family-friendly Fourth of July celebration set to light up Julian B. Lane Park and the entire downtown waterfront on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 4 pm to 9:30 pm.
This milestone event will feature a spectacular 250-drone light show honoring the nation's 250th birthday, followed by a fireworks finale, creating one of the most memorable Independence Day celebrations in Tampa Bay history.
Beginning at 4 p.m., residents and visitors can enjoy an afternoon and evening packed with entertainment along the Tampa Riverwalk, including:
The evening's headlining events begin at 9 p.m. with a drone show featuring 250 drones, followed immediately by a fireworks display over the Hillsborough River.
In addition to festivities at Julian B. Lane Park, the entire Tampa Riverwalk will come alive with celebrations, including a Patriotic Boat Parade organized by the Friends of the Riverwalk and additional fireworks displays at nearby Armature Works and Jackson's Bistro on Harbour Island.
"This is a once-in-a-generation moment, and Tampa is ready to celebrate in a big way," said Mayor Jane Castor. "As we mark 250 years of American independence, we're bringing our community together on the waterfront for a celebration filled with pride. Liberty by the Bay will showcase everything that makes Tampa special, and we can't wait to celebrate with our residents and visitors."
