Vasquez brings a background in healthcare operations, go-to-market strategy, and building client-facing functions from the ground up to Upside's health plan partnerships across Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and D-SNP.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - Upside, a nationally scalable housing stability platform purpose-built for healthcare, today announced that Mark Vasquez has joined the company as Director of Client Success. Vasquez works directly with Upside's health plan partners on program performance - the day-to-day operating relationship with each plan's care management and housing teams, referral volume and reporting cadence, issue resolution, and the path from pilot to expanded program. He is based in Upside's Fort Lauderdale headquarters.
Vasquez has spent his career at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and operations, with earlier work in fintech and virtual care. Most recently he was Head of Operations at an early-stage healthcare AI company, where he was part of the founding team building an AI-enabled telehealth platform for chronic pain management and led operations across product, compliance, marketing, and growth. He also worked as a concierge practice consultant with SignatureMD, supporting physician practices on patient experience and operational readiness. That mix - early-stage build work plus practice-level operations - is the background he brings to standing up and running Upside's client-facing function as the partner base grows.
"Mark builds trust fast, and in this business that's the whole game," said Patrick Regan, EVP of Sales and GTM of Upside. "A signed contract is the starting line. What determines whether a plan expands the program is whether their care managers trust the person on the other end of the phone - whether referrals get worked, whether the reporting holds up, whether problems get solved the first time they're raised. Mark handles that, and he came to this work for the right reasons. Our partners pick up on that."
Vasquez, who grew up in the Bronx and now lives in Plantation, Florida, has said the problem is one he understands well - part of why he moved from telehealth into housing. It shows up in how he works with plans: less vendor, more counterpart.
The role reflects how Upside's partner base has grown. The company operates Medicaid and Medicare Advantage housing programs across multiple states, each with its own referral workflow, care management structure, acuity-tiered service model, and state compliance framework. Keeping those programs performing - and giving each plan a single accountable point of contact - is the work of Client Success.
"Housing instability is one of the most underaddressed problems in healthcare, and it's a problem I care about getting right," said Mark Vasquez, Director of Client Success of Upside. "Plans know their members are struggling with housing. What they haven't had is a partner who takes the case and finishes it. My job is to make sure that experience is consistent for every plan we work with - that they see the outcomes, understand the reporting, and never have to wonder whether something is getting handled."
Upside serves Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, D-SNP, commercial, and employer-sponsored populations, supporting members in more than 240 languages across the full housing continuum - from crisis placement through long-term tenancy support.
