[May 14, 2026] - Greenwood Energy recently announced the evolution of its executive team and work towards their "VISION 2030" five-year strategic growth plan.
Guido Patrignani, who first joined Greenwood Energy in 2018 and later was CEO from 2021-2024, was promoted to Chairman of GWE's Board of Directors. Menelao Mora, who first joined Greenwood Energy in 2014 and most recently was Country Head of Panama, was promoted to Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Marcos Paez Saavedra, who first joined Greenwood Energy in 2023 to lead GWE's work in Colombia, was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Additionally, earlier this year, Guido and Ati Viviam Villafaña, Youth Defender of the Cabildo Arhuaco Magdalena-Guajira, participated in the Tropical Forest Leadership Summit organized by the Yale School of the Environment in New Haven, Connecticut, where they presented Greenwood Energy's TERRɅ INITIɅTIVE project, implemented in collaboration with the Arhuaco People in Colombia's Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
The first phase of the project began construction in late 2025. Once completed, it will combine 156 MW of solar capacity with the development of three new Indigenous villages and a dedicated fund for the acquisition and conservation of more than 100,000 hectares of ancestral land. The Tropical Forest Leadership Summit convened leaders from the environmental, academic, and public policy sectors to address challenges in conservation, climate finance, and governance in tropical ecosystems.
During the visit, Yale faculty and university officials met with Guido and Ati to explore areas of collaboration. The trip also included cultural visits on campus where they received a private tour of the Peabody Museum alongside other Summit speakers, and visited the Yale University Art Gallery.
