USDA Names Trump Administration Appointees to the Nevada Farm Service Agency State Committee

Reno, Nev. - April 16, 2026 - The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) today announced the appointment of five leaders in agriculture to serve on the Nevada USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) state committee.

Members of the FSA state committee are appointed by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins and, in support of the Trump Administration's Farmers First commitment, members of the FSA state committee are responsible for the oversight of farm programs and county committee operations, resolving program delivery appeals from the agriculture community, maintaining cooperative relations with industry stakeholders and keeping producers informed about current FSA programs.

Each FSA state committee is comprised of three to five members including a designated chairperson. The individuals appointed to serve on this committee for Nevada are:

  • Ronnie Burrows, Chair (Lovelock) - Burrows is a farmer who produces alfalfa and other hay crops, supported by an agricultural trucking enterprise. He has extensive experience in largescale hay production, flood irrigation, crop planning, and water resource management, and has recently expanded his operation to include cattle.
  • James Combs, Member (Las Vegas) - Combs is a lifelong producer who grew up on his family's hog farm in North Las Vegas and now helps operate a swine operation that uses food based feeding under Nevada's only Swine Health Protection Act permit. He brings decades of agricultural leadership through service at the county, state, and national levels, along with experience in waste diversion operations and producer focused representation.
  • Daniel Dufurrena, Member (Winnemucca) - Dufurrena is a third-generation rancher who owns and operates his family's cattle operation in Humboldt County, where he manages daily ranch activities, financial recordkeeping, and sustainable soil and water practices. With more than 40 years of service to Nevada agriculture, he has held longstanding roles on the Quinn River Soil District board, the FSA county committee, and community organizations supporting hay growers and youth rodeo programs.
  • Dann Mathews, Member (Pioche) - Mathews is a sixth-generation farmer and rancher who oversees irrigated alfalfa production, livestock operations, and Bureau of Land Management grazing permit management across private and federal rangelands in Lincoln County. He has held leadership roles with Nevada Farm Bureau, volunteered extensively with 4H, FFA, and local conservation efforts, and is familiar with Nevada's drought, water, and rangeland management challenges.
  • Jessica Lynn Trask, Member (Ely) - Trask comanages a diversified ranching and hay operation in White Pine County, overseeing cow/calf production, forage management, and a direct-to-consumer Angus beef program built on long-term genetic improvement. She brings experience in livestock nutrition, ranch business operations, and community representation through her service on local boards and as Nevada's delegate to the American Angus Association.

"These individuals, selected by Secretary Rollins in partnership with key stakeholders in each state, are held in high regard in the agriculture industry and are entrusted to ensure FSA programs are delivered in a manner consistent with federal farm policy and in the best interest of all agricultural producers in their state," said FSA Administrator Bill Beam. "Their appointment to the FSA state committee is a testament to their standing in the industry and their dedication to the agriculture industry, rural America and President Trump's America First, Farmers First policies."

FSA helps America's farmers, ranchers and forest landowners invest in, improve, protect and expand their agricultural operations through the delivery of agricultural programs for all Americans. FSA implements agricultural policy, administers credit and loan programs, and manages conservation, commodity, disaster recovery and marketing programs through a national network of state and county offices and locally elected county committees.
