CONNECT 2025 Kicks Off at Bobby McKey’s with a Night of Fun and Fundraising

CONNECT 2025 launched in high spirits as more than 100 credit union professionals gathered at Bobby McKey's Dueling Piano Bar for an evening of food, drinks, music-and giving back. The event raised over $10,000 for the Credit Union Foundation of MD|DC, setting a record for attendance and contributions.

MD|DC Credit Union Association President/CEO John Bratsakis welcomed guests and thanked attendees for their generosity. He also recognized Bobby McKey's for their support, noting the venue's charitable discount and their pledge to donate 30% of the evening's proceeds to the Foundation.

The night was filled with laughter and lively entertainment as piano players playfully interacted with the crowd. A standout moment came when the MD|DC team was invited on stage for a spirited rendition of Elton John's "Crocodile Rock." Just when things seemed to be going off-key, the Association's own Chrystal Hunter brought down the house with a powerful performance of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You."

The evening was a resounding success-filled with fun, camaraderie, and meaningful support for the Foundation's mission to provide grants and scholarships to the local credit union community.
