KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan, July 9, 2026 - Global logistics and supply chain management leader UPS (NYSE: UPS) has opened a new operations center in Kaohsiung to support growing customer demand for premium international logistics services in southern Taiwan.
The new facility doubles the size and package processing capacity of UPS's operations in the southern Taiwan area. Located in Nanzi, it provides UPS customers in Gangshan Industrial Park, Gangshan Beizhou Industrial Park, Nanzi Technology Park and Renwu Industrial Park with even better access to UPS's end-to-end global logistics network which serves over 200 countries and territories worldwide.
UPS customers in these areas - which form a key part of the Taiwan government's Greater Southern Silicon Valley strategy - can also now benefit from an up to three-hour extension in pickup cutoff times for exports to the United States.
"When we talk to businesses, what many of them ask for is more hours in a day; more time and flexibility to process orders, prepare shipments and reach more customers. By enabling us to extend pickup cutoff times, this is what the new UPS Kaohsiung center provides," said Sam Hung, managing director UPS Taiwan.
"Taiwan is a global hub for high tech innovation. In addition to the established industrial centers in the north, many companies are also now expanding in the south, especially in and around Kaohsiung. UPS is here to support this growth and ensure our customers have the global connectivity they need to build success for the long term."
Tai-Hsiang Liao, director general Economic Development Bureau, Kaohsiung City Government said, "Kaohsiung is actively advancing its digital and net-zero transformation through smart technologies, while strengthening the Southern Taiwan Semiconductor S-Corridor, building an AI industry ecosystem and promoting industrial net-zero transition. These efforts have helped attract key global companies to invest in Kaohsiung and transform the city into a smart technology hub.
"UPS's Kaohsiung Service Center is well positioned to support nearby high-tech industry clusters and supply chain customers in Gangshan, Nanzi, Renwu and surrounding areas, including semiconductors, advanced manufacturing and aerospace. The opening of the Kaohsiung Service Center will bring stronger cross-border logistics capabilities to southern Taiwan's high-value industries," Liao added.
"With more flexible pickup times and end-to-end supply chain management, the center will help local industries move components and high-quality products to international markets more efficiently and securely, further strengthening Kaohsiung's strategic role in the global high-end supply chain. UPS's continued investment in Kaohsiung is not only a recognition of the city's industrial upgrading and investment environment, but also an important driver of Kaohsiung's growing connection to global trade."
According to the Taiwan Ministry of Finance, the United States is Taiwan's largest export market, accounting for over 32% of all exports in the year-to-date May 2026. This is up from 31% in 2025. UPS offers its full portfolio of end-to-end logistics, digital and supply chain management solutions to businesses in Taiwan, delivering worldwide in as little as one business day.
"We provide industrial-grade storage and memory solutions for mission-critical applications worldwide, serving industries such as industrial automation, healthcare, and transportation," said Mike Tu, general manager STSP branch ATP Electronics Taiwan Inc.
"Our customers place a high priority on product quality and delivery commitments, so we need to respond quickly to changing demands and maintain a stable supply chain. UPS's global network and end-to-end shipment visibility help us stay on top of shipment progress and respond to customer requirements with greater speed and accuracy," he added.
"In the aerospace industry, many of our products involve high-value equipment and specialized components that often need to reach customers and partners within tight timelines," said Larry Huang, sales manager Kolead Aerospace Co., Ltd.
"For us, logistics is not just about moving shipments, it directly impacts project schedules, equipment delivery and our commitments to customers. As we continue to expand into different markets, UPS's reliable global network and professional support give us greater confidence to pursue new opportunities and support our future growth."
This is the latest investment by UPS in its Taiwan network as the company continues to help its customers grow and compete on a global level. In March this year, UPS opened its largest logistics center in Asia Pacific, in Taoyuan which features advanced automation technology and state-of-the-art storage and warehouse management solutions to help customers boost productivity, operate more efficiently and strengthen supply chains.
