The two leaders had an exchange of views on a number of practical issues pertaining to the bilateral relationship, notably in the energy sector, as well as some current international matters.
They agreed to pursue further contacts during the upcoming summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation Background information Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) , to be held in Bishkek and the traditional meeting of the leaders of Commonwealth of Independent States Background information Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member countries, to happen late this year in St Petersburg.
