Freedom Public Library Closes Temporarily to Expand into New Space

The Marion County Public Library System announced that the Freedom Public Library will be closed from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, until 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, to move into the new expansion space. Upon re-opening, there will be a temporary entrance and checkout on the east side of the building while the existing library space is renovated. There will also be a new traffic pattern and parking.

Over the past year, the Freedom Public Library has undergone construction work to expand its current 8,100 square feet to approximately 32,000 square feet. When the expansion and renovation of public service areas are complete, children, teens and adults will enjoy:
· Additional shelving space for library books and materials
· New study rooms
· Comfortable seating and spacious workspaces
· A separate 5,000-square-foot children's area
· An additional, larger meeting room
· A Friends of the Freedom Public Library used bookstore

During this closure period, the public is encouraged to use the public library location nearest to them.
