From Arthropods to Antimicrobial Resistance: ARUP at ASM Microbe 2026

Experts from ARUP Laboratories will showcase their latest research at the upcoming American Society for Microbiology (ASM) Microbe 2026 conference, which will be held June 4-7 in Washington, D.C. Research topics will include a deep dive on arthropods, drug resistance in mycobacterium, and same-shift diagnostic testing.

Health 101: Diagnostic Parasitology and Vector-Borne Diseases Workshop

Thursday, June 4, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

As part of this workshop, Blaine Mathison, BS, M(ASCP), ARUP technical director of Parasitology, will give two presentations:

  • Identifying Parasites in Specimens Processed for Histology (at 10:15 a.m.)
  • A Field Guide to Arthropods of the Human Body (at 2:15 p.m.)
