OAQDA Approves $265 Million in Projects to Build New Infrastructure for Energy Reliability and Solid Waste Disposal

COLUMBUS - At its July board meeting, the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority (OAQDA)
approved $265 million in bond financing for projects across Ohio that will advance clean energy
production and waste disposal infrastructure. The approved projects include new solid waste
facilities to serve the community growth across Clark, Clermont, and Hamilton counties, as well
as new projects that provide energy generation and reliability for communities and small
businesses in Marion and Montgomery counties.

The approvals reflect OAQDA's commitment to funding development and infrastructure
projects that create jobs, reduce pollution, and strengthen Ohio communities.

"These projects show how strategic public-private partnerships and investments in building out
new infrastructure can make a real difference," said Christina O'Keeffe, executive director of
OAQDA. "By leveraging private capital and advanced technology, we're helping communities
lower costs, improve public health, and build resiliency into their economic future."
Projects approved for financing by OAQDA include:

Rumpke Consolidated Companies, Inc. (Clark, Clermont & Hamilton counties)

OAQDA approved up to $55 million in financing, including for federal tax-exempt bonds,
for Rumpke to build three solid waste facilities across southwest Ohio. The upgrades will
increase waste processing capacity, improve efficiency, and support 220 jobs.

Marion County Solar Project, LLC (Marion County)

The Marion County Solar Project, developed by Shell through its subsidiary Savion
Energy, was approved for up to $208 million in financing. The 100-MW solar facility will
help add energy generation to serve Ohio's electricity needs, providing enough power
for thousands of homes annually. Local communities also receive financial benefits of
$23 million in direct compensation.

FDH Limited & Southpaw Enterprises Inc. (Montgomery County)

Southpaw Enterprises received approval for up to $2 million in financing to install
rooftop solar and related roof upgrades at its Moraine facility, reducing operating costs
to support its small business as a provider of sensory integration and multi-sensory
experience products.

These projects were approved by the OAQDA Board through the Clean Air Improvement
Program (CAIP), which is a platform that enables communities and businesses to access
financial assistance from lenders, investors, and other capital providers for clean air projects.
By reducing upfront costs and improving cash flow, CAIP helps projects across Ohio move
forward with greater financial certainty and achieve long-term economic benefits for
businesses and communities.
