Sustainability Fair to Provide Information and Resources for Helping the Environment
The City of Marion will host a Sustainability Fair on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Lowe Park starting at 10 a.m. Residents can visit with a variety of businesses and organizations to learn about and access resources for living a 'greener' life.
Attendees can expect to gain a better understanding of water quality, solar power, hydroponics, solid waste, sustainable architecture, native plants and products that promote a sustainable lifestyle.
Representatives from the Public Works Department will promote the City's stormwater reimbursement program for rain gardens, native plants, trees, barrels, soil quality restoration and pervious pavers. A food truck will be onsite, and attendees can also enjoy yard games and the beauty of Lowe Park.
This event is a great educational opportunity for anyone interested in stepping up their environmental efforts and discovering existing initiatives to enhance and protect our community for future generations.
This event is free to attend and will last until 1 p.m.
