Yesterday marked the conclusion of the AWS Summit Milano 2026, the premier annual event dedicated to the cloud services of Amazon Web Services (AWS), which brings together Italy's cloud community. This year Almaviva was present as a Diamond Sponsor.
The breakout session dedicated to digital healthcare, featuring Francesco Mangia, Senior Project Manager for Digital Healthcare at Almaviva, and Massimo Consonni from the Information Systems and Digital Healthcare department of the Lombardy Region's General Welfare Directorate, presented the regional VNA-PACS project integrated with the Electronic Health Record 2.0, an interoperable ecosystem for the centralized management of diagnostic images. The system is designed to improve clinical collaboration, continuity of care, and the overall user experience.
In his lightning talk, Alberto Giaccone, CIO of Almaviva, presented the company's proprietary Giotto Evolve.aiops platform running on AWS. He talked about the evolution of IT operations through automation and AI and demonstrated how metrics, events, and logs can be transformed into automated actions that help accelerate troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and operational governance.
"During the course of the day, we showcased two real-world experiences of digital innovation, united by the use of cloud computing and artificial intelligence, yet applied in profoundly diverse contexts. The sessions presented at the AWS Summit demonstrated how cloud technologies, integration, and AI can generate tangible value across different ecosystems: from digital healthcare, where interoperability and accessibility improve services for citizens, to IT Operations, where automation and AI make processes faster, more efficient, and more proactive," said Alberto Giaccone, highlighting Almaviva's ongoing commitment to supporting the evolution and digitalization of ecosystems that serve citizens.
