An anonymous donor has made a generous gift to Lipscomb University to fund significant upgrades to the university's Student Activities Center, enhancing recreational and wellness spaces for students.
The Student Activities Center is an athletic and exercise facility that serves students, faculty and staff, through fitness programming, exercise equipment and basketball courts among other services. The project will transform a portion of the existing 20,000-foot facility into a new large, modern weight and exercise room. Planned improvements include large new fitness space, equipment, glass walls, updated ceilings and lighting, new flooring and full-length exercise mirrors. The upgrades respond directly to student interest in expanded and improved fitness space on campus.
"This donor believes strongly in Lipscomb's mission to prepare students for lives of purpose through transformative experiences through our holistic approach to student wellbeing ," said Lipscomb President Candice McQueen. "We are grateful for this generous gift, which will have an immediate and lasting impact on our campus, creating a place our students have been asking for and will be excited to use every day."
Construction on the Student Activities Center upgrades is expected to begin following final design approvals. Once completed, the renovated fitness area will significantly expand capacity and functionality, supporting the university's commitment to student wellness and engagement.
