Dave Greenberg and Chase Thomet Named Among GrowthCap's Top Software Investors of 2026

JMI Partners Dave Greenberg and Chase Thomet have been named to GrowthCap's Top Software Investors of 2026.

This is the seventh consecutive year a JMI Partner has been recognized on this list, a reflection of the founders and management teams we work alongside and our ongoing commitment to helping them build durable, category-leading, AI-driven software businesses.

This year's list centered on how AI is changing the way software is built, sold, and used, and how well investors adapt and help their companies navigate the shift. The strongest software investors anticipate both market-wide and company-specific developments and stay committed to their portfolio companies' long-term growth and success. They bring pattern recognition, deep executive networks, acquisition expertise, and proprietary insights to the table, and they know when to move fast and when a more measured approach serves a company better.

GrowthCap's evaluation drew on conversations across the software and private investment communities, along with nomination materials and broader research into each nominee's career, investment activity, and work with portfolio companies. As GrowthCap put it, this year's honorees "represent some of the most accomplished and respected software investors of today."

Dave Greenberg, Partner, joined the JMI team in 2006 and has been helping build leading growth companies for two decades. He is currently a director of Bloomerang, Businessolver, DoorLoop, Employee Navigator, RainFocus, ServiceTrade, Unanet, and Vantaca. Prior to joining JMI in 2006, David was an associate at Cascadia Capital and an analyst at Houlihan Lokey.

Chase Thomet, Partner, joined the JMI team in 2014 and has more than a decade of experience helping build leading growth technology companies. Chase is currently a director of gaiia, Greenlight Guru, SewerAI, SimpliGov, and Visiting Media. Prior to joining JMI, Chase was an investment banking analyst in the mergers & acquisitions group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
