Gerre Currie
VP, community development officer, Financial Federal Bank

Gerre Currie has spent 15 years working with businesses, nonprofits, agencies, and other partners to address housing, infrastructure, healthcare, and workforce development across Shelby County. Her greatest career achievements are her appointment by Gov. Bill Lee to the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability and recognition for her advocacy supporting the aging population.

Gerre sees growing financial pressure on the "sandwich generation" as a major trend. Families are "struggling to support aging parents and children while cost of living soars," a squeeze she says is affecting their financial security.

Rather than naming a traditional career milestone, Gerre wants to continue directing attention and resources toward vulnerable populations. Her priority is ensuring that "food insecurity, safe affordable housing, and healthcare for the elderly" remain at the forefront of community efforts.
