Partnership with First Step Staffing, Inc. to support individuals most in need
Orange County, FL - The Orange County Board of County Commissioners today approved a $750,000 workforce partnership with First Step Staffing, Inc. This initiative aims to expand employment opportunities within Orange County Government for veterans, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those with prior incarceration.
According to First Step Staffing, a job is much more than a paycheck. The nonprofit staffing agency develops workforce talent to meet the needs of local businesses. Known for its reliability, First Step Staffing partners with more than 200 employers across seven states.
"Our goal is to provide economic opportunities and a path to self-sufficiency for residents who are especially vulnerable to homelessness, financial instability, and employment barriers," said Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings. "This initiative will support our efforts to reduce unemployment and homelessness across the County."
Employment opportunities will cover a wide range of fields and vocations in various Orange County departments and divisions. The partnership with First Step Staffing, Inc. will be facilitated through the County's Mental Health and Homelessness Division, a part of the Community and Family Services Department.
