Wednesday, May 27th (New York, NY) - Today, Kaufman Music Center announces its Annual Spring Gala on June 2, 2026. Celebrating the powerful impact of music and the arts and visionary leaders who are transforming education, this year's honorees include Arts Education advocate & Volunteer Estelle Greco, Special Music School High School Orchestra Conductor Simon Lipskar, and New York City Public Schools Chancellor Kamar Samuels.

The evening begins with a 6 PM cocktail reception at Lincoln Ristorante immediately followed by the 2026 gala program scheduled for 8 PM at Kaufman Music Center's Merkin Hall. The program features performances by students from Kaufman Music Center's Special Music School as well as the iconic Brazilian singer-songwriter Gilberto Gil, who will perform with his granddaughter, Special Music School student Flor Gil Demasi. Capping off the night, the organization will host a champagne reception in Merkin Hall.
Kaufman Music Center's annual Spring Gala has become a staple for the greater music community of NYC. The 2026 installment upholds this longstanding tradition of bringing artists, students, and advocates of the arts together, promising an unforgettable event in service of music, education, and creativity.
As always, all proceeds from the Gala will directly support Kaufman Music Center's educational programs, which serve thousands of students annually through Special Music School, Lucy Moses School, and Merkin Hall programming.
