OCTFME RECOGNIZES AUTOSHOP AS THE MARCH 2026 LOCATION OF THE MONTH

Washington, D.C. - The District of Columbia Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) has named Autoshop as the March 2026 Location of the Month, spotlighting a bold, production-ready venue in the heart of the Union Market District.
Once an industrial garage, Autoshop has been transformed into a flexible creative space that retains its original character while offering a highly adaptable layout for film, television, photography, and digital media productions. Its raw textures, soaring ceilings, and open floor plan make it a standout choice for creators seeking both authenticity and versatility.
"Autoshop exemplifies the versatility and creative potential that Washington, D.C. offers to filmmakers and content creators," said LaToya Foster, OCTFME Director and DC Film Commissioner. "Its industrial aesthetic, open layout, and prime location in the Union Market District make it an exceptional space for productions seeking both functionality and visual impact. We are proud to highlight Autoshop as our Location of the Month and to continue showcasing spaces that support and attract dynamic storytelling in the District."
With 7,500 square feet of open floor space, Autoshop accommodates a wide range of production needs-from large-scale film shoots and commercial work to editorial photography and digital content creation. The venue includes an outdoor terrace, breakout areas, and green rooms, offering built-in support for staging, talent holding, wardrobe, and seamless production flow.
Located within the vibrant Union Market District, Autoshop places productions steps away from a bustling streetscape filled with murals, local businesses, and visually distinctive exteriors. Nearby garages and the Union Market surface lot provide convenient parking options, making logistics manageable for crews of all sizes.
"Autoshop has long been a place where people come together to celebrate food, culture, and creativity. We're excited to extend that spirit to the film and photography community, and to support productions that want to capture the character of the Union Market District," said Elizabeth K. Harnik, Senior Director of Events, Edens.
