A winter storm has brought snow and frigid temperatures to our area. Our crews have prepared by salting outdoor areas at stations, deploying snow-fighting equipment, and monitoring switches and tracks.
But we're also taking precautions to ensure trains and buses can operate safely, and there will be service changes on subways, buses, the Long Island Rail Road, and Metro-North Railroad this weekend and into Monday. Keep reading to see those changes.
Our customers' safety is our top priority, and it may be safer to not travel on Monday. However, if you must travel, keep these things in mind:
Stay safe, and thanks for riding with us.
On Monday, the subway will run on a weekday schedule. Trains may run local along some segments of express service.
Expect longer waits for local buses, since we've removed articulated buses from service during the storm.
On Monday, the LIRR will run on a weekend schedule.
On Monday, trains will run on a Saturday schedule with additional rush-hour trains. Check the TrainTime app for details.
Waterbury Line service is suspended. Bus service will replace train service, pending bus availability, due to the ongoing effects of Sunday's snowstorm.
West of Hudson service on the Port Jervis and Pascack Valley lines will be temporarily suspended beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Visit NJ Transit's website for updates.
