Harriett Dickerson Named Assistant Director of Probation Services

Harriett Dickerson has been named assistant director of the Office of Probation Services, effective Sept. 20, Michael J. Blee, acting administrative director of the courts, announced today.

As assistant director, Dickerson will oversee all areas of probation, including adult and juvenile supervision, recovery court, child support services, the Comprehensive Enforcement Program, and the Intensive Supervision Program.

Dickerson succeeds Larry Ashbridge, who was named director of probation services in June.

"With 15 years of dedicated service to the Judiciary, Harriett brings a wealth of experience and insight that strengthens the Judiciary's ability to support probationers in their journey toward successful reintegration and real change," Judge Blee said.

Dickerson worked for Cook County adult probation in Chicago for nearly 15 years before joining the New Jersey Judiciary in 2003 as an administrative specialist in the Office of Probation Services. In 2019, she was appointed chief of adult supervision and training where she directed statewide supervision and training for case types that included domestic violence, mental health, and sex offender supervision.

A graduate of Chicago State University, Dickerson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
