Criminal illegal alien charged with sexually exploiting child in Tennessee

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. - A criminal illegal alien is in custody following an investigation into a social media livestream that allegedly showed him sexually exploiting a child.

Carter County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested Pablo Altamirano-Rodriguez Aug. 2 and charged him with especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor following a joint investigation with HSI Johnson City. The investigation began after officers received a cyber tip reporting an ongoing incident involving a livestream video broadcast from a social media account.

Altamirano-Rodriguez, 30, illegally entered the United States in 2023 without inspection under the Biden "catch and release" era. ICE lodged an immigration detainer with local officials following his arrest. When he's released from jail, ICE will assume custody pending his removal proceedings.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are pending.
