Mexican Man Pleads Guilty to Trafficking Methamphetamine and Returning to the United States After Being Removed

Gulfport, MS - An illegal alien from Mexico plead guilty today to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and one count of returning to the United States after being removed.

According to court documents, in March and April of 2026, Antonio Garza-Gonzalez, also known as Antonio Gonzalez-Garza, age 52, law enforcement conducted three controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Garza-Gonzalez at his residence in Biloxi, Mississippi. They later recovered additional methamphetamine after searching his residence. In total, agents seized approximately 27.1 grams of methamphetamine and Garza-Gonzalez admitted that he had been purchasing and reselling methamphetamine and was unlawfully present in the United States after a 2018 deportation.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on January 14, 2027 and faces a maximum penalty of 22 years in prison. A federal district judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

U.S. Attorney Baxter Kruger of the Southern District of Mississippi and Acting Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations, Matthew Wright, made the announcement.

The Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, investigated the case.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Erica Rose prosecuted the case.
