Yolo County - Caltrans is advising bicyclists about scheduled construction work for the Interstate 80 (I-80) bike path on the Yolo Causeway.
Bicyclists and pedestrians should prepare for delays, exercise caution during construction and expect assistance from flaggers when traveling in the work zone.
The construction is part of the ongoing $280 million Yolo 80 Managed Lanes Project. Workers will be rebuilding the existing bike path, including pavement demolition and repaving scheduled daily for April 13 through April 23. The bike path will not be closed during daytime work; it will be flagged for traffic to pass through.
Motorists are reminded that the construction zone speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph in Yolo County on U.S. Highway 50 and I-80 in West Sacramento and into Davis. The schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment and/or material availability, or other unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
The department issues construction updates on X @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3. For real-time traffic, click on Caltrans' QuickMap or download the QuickMap app from the App Store or Google Play.
