Chief John Drake today announced the promotions of two new captains and two new lieutenants effective Sunday.
Lieutenant Joshua Lefler, a 12-year MNPD veteran presently assigned to Vehicle Crimes, will fill one of two overnight field supervisor captain positions. Lefler holds a Bachelor's Degree from Devry University.
Lieutenant Gbewa Mustapha, a 17-year MNPD veteran presently assigned to Violent Crimes/Robbery, will fill the second overnight field supervisor captain position. Mustapha holds a Bachelor's Degree from Bethel University.
A field supervisor is the ranking member of the police department during the overnight hours and provides guidance to precinct officers on the scenes of complex incidents.
Sergeant Devonte Coleman, a 9-year MNPD veteran presently assigned to Violent Crimes/Robbery, is being promoted to lieutenant and will lead the East Precinct's overnight shift. Coleman holds a Bachelor's Degree from Lee University and a Master's Degree from Cumberland University.
Sergeant Tyler Conrads, an 11-year MNPD veteran presently assigned to Homicide, is being promoted to lieutenant and will lead the South Precinct's evening shift. Conrads holds a Bachelor's Degree from Montclair State University.
