In part the delegation wrote, "On October 2, 2025, the Department of Energy notified Brayton Energy that its award for the thermal energy storage project would be terminated in its entirety. This unlawful action does unnecessary and unwarranted harm. It will result in lost jobs directly in the community and further set back efforts to grow American manufacturing jobs through the commercial scale-up of this technology that will be sourced and manufactured entirely in the United States."
