Rock Valley College, in collaboration with the Workforce Equity Initiative (WEI), invites students, jobseekers, and the community to explore career opportunities and build professional connections at the upcoming Skilled Trades Career Fair.

The Skilled Trades Fair will be held on Thursday, April 23 from 2 - 6 p.m. in the Physical Education Center.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 23, from 2-6 pm in the Physical Education Center (PEC) on Rock Valley College's main campus. All students, employees, and community members are invited to attend.

The Skilled Trades Career Fair aims to provide valuable networking opportunities for individuals interested in pursuing careers in various industries. Over 30 employers from diverse sectors, including manufacturing, transportation, and healthcare, are expected to participate in the event.

For jobseekers and students, the fair is a chance to connect and explore new opportunities. "Our career fair empowers students and jobseekers to explore careers, gain exposure to industries, and develop professional connections," said Tyler Ross-Kaberg, Career Navigator Specialist at RVC.

Among the participating employers are Gleason Cutting Tools Corporation, Haumiller Engineering Co., Bourn & Koch, Help at Home, Sahara Home Care, Rock River Valley Blood Center, OSF Healthcare, Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 23, Ingersoll Cutting Tools, C & W Services (Cushman and Wakefield), TAC Rockford, Franklin Display, Electroform Company Inc., Swedish American Hospital, Cross County Construction, Header Die & Tool, Aunt Martha's Health & Wellness, Federal Bureau of Prisons, IBEW Local 196, PCI Pharma Services, Rockford Manufacturing Group, Zenith Cutter, Emerson, Shanks Veterinary Equipment, Yes Staffing LLC, Fairhaven Retirement Home, SPX Flow, Fairchild Equipment, RMG Wire, Taylor Company, Northern Precision Plastics, and Kinkelder USA.

The WEI program, a statewide grant initiative, focuses on expanding training opportunities for minority students in at-risk communities. These barriers may include free tuition, childcare, transportation, and educational supplies.
