Statement Regarding the Death of a Thai Worker in Israel amid the Ongoing Conflicts in the Middle East

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been informed through the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv that the Israeli authorities have reported the death of Mr. Chaiwat Waewnil, a Thai worker in Israel, following a missile attack in central Israel on the evening of 18 March 2026.

The Royal Thai Government expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved family. The Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv is currently coordinating with the relevant Israeli authorities to repatriate his remains to Thailand while the Government of Israel will provide the applicable benefits and compensation to his family.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on all parties concerned to return to dialogue and diplomacy at the earliest opportunity in order to bring an end to the conflict in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter, while ensuring the safety of civilians and the freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
