Fried Frank advised Novaterra Energy Limited, a specialist in restoring and developing oil and natural gas resources in challenging environments, on its joint venture, Qatar-based Novaterra Energy LLC. The joint venture in turn entered into an agreement with ConocoPhillips and the Syrian government to rebuild Syria's gas infrastructure.
This transaction builds on Fried Frank's work in the international energy and infrastructure sectors, including advising TowerBrook Capital Partners on its investments in GMC Group and JSM Group Services.
M&A and private equity partners Christian Iwasko and Michelle Tong led the Fried Frank team, which included M&A and private equity associates Hermina Wong and Stefania Athanassopoulou, tax partner Oliver Currall and tax associate Camilla Marzi.
