AHN Saint Vincent to Present Month-long Series of events in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

AHN Saint Vincent will present a series of events throughout October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These events aim to raise awareness, provide education, and support those affected by breast cancer. The events are open to visitors, the public and hospital staff.

The schedule of events is as follows:

October 1- Breast Cancer Awareness Kickoff, at 10 a.m. in the hospital lobby, featuring comments by AHN breast cancer surgeon, Dr. Jennifer Saldanha, hospital employees, and comments by breast cancer survivor, Joyce Osborne.

October 8 - The public and employees can purchase pink carnations in the hospital lobby for $2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to show support for breast cancer patients.

October 15 - Bake Sale in the hospital lobby, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

October 22 - Cotton Candy Sale, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hospital lobby. Participants can purchase the pink treat for $2.

October 23 - Celebrity Bartending Event, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Plymouth Tavern, featuring local celebrities behind the bar.

October 29 - Cheesecake Cup Sale in hospital lobby from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., $2

Proceeds from these events will benefit the AHN Saint Vincent Breast Cancer Awareness and Education Fund.

"At AHN Saint Vincent, we understand and empathize with the challenges faced by individuals and families affected by breast cancer," said Dr. Saldanha, AHN Saint Vincent breast cancer surgeon. "We stand in solidarity with our patients, offering support, education, and hope as we navigate this journey together."

All proceeds from the sales during these events will go towards supporting breast cancer awareness and education efforts.
