Dentons Lee and Dentons Rodyk participated as speakers at the "2026 KENCA International Contract Seminar" hosted by the Korea Engineering & Consulting Association (KENCA) in Seoul.
The seminar was held under the theme "Global Dispute Resolution in the Engineering Industry and Key Domestic Legal Issues," and provided key issues and practical trends in international arbitration and construction-related matters.
The seminar began with opening remarks by Ki-Jeung Park, Chairman of SCL Korea (Senior Lawyer, International Arbitration and Construction at Dentons Lee), followed by Session 1, in which speakers from Dentons Singapore (Kia Jeng Koh, Kirindeep Singh, and Reuben Peter) and Dentons Lee (David K. S. Oh) presented on the role of the Singapore courts in Singapore-seated arbitrations and key updates under the SIAC Rules 2025 aimed at streamlining arbitration proceedings.
In Session 2, Senior Attorney Ki-Jeung Park (Chairman of SCL Korea) introduced practical approaches for Korean companies to conduct international arbitration and litigation in a cost effective and reasonable manner through the use of Third Party Funding.
In Session 3, Senior Attorney Eunjee Kim shared the impact of recent changes in labour regulations, including the "Yellow Envelope Act," on the engineering and construction industries, along with key response strategies. Senior Attorney Kyoungho Kim presented on recent changes in the legal landscape surrounding overseas projects, including force majeure clauses, and the corresponding response measures.
The seminar provided a meaningful platform for sharing practical insights on dispute resolution and legal issues in the engineering sector, while strengthening collaboration between industry professionals and legal experts.
