Leadbeter to Speak about Aiden’s Law Proposal

Oct. 09, 2025

WHAT: Rep. Robert Leadbeter (R-Columbia) will discuss legislation to create a rapid notification system to help locate individuals with cognitive, intellectual or developmental disabilities who go missing. The proposal, known as a "Purple Alert" or "Aiden's Law," would ensure law enforcement and the public receive immediate, coordinated alerts; similar to Pennsylvania's existing Amber and Silver Alert programs. Leadbeter's plan is designed to close a gap in the state's emergency response network and give families peace of mind when every minute matters. WHEN: Friday, Oct. 10, 11:30 a.m. WHERE: Leadbeter's Berwick District Office, 134 W. Front St., Berwick. Media contact: Tracy Polovick, 717.260.6358, [email protected]
