Following its strategy to strengthen AI agents across various sectors, such as commerce and location services, NAVER has also begun developing AI agents for mobility environments. The first official partner for NAVER’s mobility AI agent is Hyundai Motor Group. NAVER plans to integrate the NAVER app and NAVER Map into Hyundai Motor Group’s SDV, kicking off its in-vehicle AI agent services powered by NAVER’s AI technologies and services.

NAVER Corporation (CEO Choi Soo-yeon) is expanding into mobility AI agents as part of its strategy to provide specialized AI agents across various sectors. As part of its first partnership with Hyundai Motor Group, NAVER unveiled a preview of its in-vehicle AI agent during the group’s developer conference, “Pleos 25.”

Lee Jae-hoo, Head of the NAVER App Service Division, who is responsible for designing seamless user flows in mobility environments, spoke at the Pleos 25 conference under the theme “NAVER Mobile Services Connected through AI – Mobility.” Lee emphasized that when users interact with HyperCLOVA X embedded in Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs), the system understands their spoken intent and provides personalized services such as voice search, AI briefings, and contextual location recommendations, seamlessly connecting mobile service experiences within the vehicle. Meanwhile, NAVER collaborated with Hyundai Motor Group to develop a new mobility AI agent by integrating HyperCLOVA X into the group’s Pleos OS and Gleo AI platforms.

For example, if a driver says, “Give me a morning commute briefing,” HyperCLOVA X—integrated into Hyundai Motor Group’s voice assistant system—understands the intent and begins navigation to the workplace. Simultaneously, the NAVER App provides personalized information such as weather, news, and schedules. Naver also introduced various services and scenarios where users can use voice search to obtain additional information, order from or make reservations at restaurants considering their schedule, and even complete payments—all through the in-vehicle AI agent.

NAVER set up a dedicated booth at “Pleos 25,” where attendees could preview the mobility AI agent service that NAVER will launch with Hyundai Motor Group.

Meanwhile, as NAVER embarks on its second phase under CEO Choi Soo-yeon, the company is reinforcing its core platforms, including search and commerce, under the “On-Service AI” initiative. It is also expanding AI collaboration in the medical field with external partners such as Seoul National University Hospital, promoting AI adoption across various industries.
