Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised BNL BNP Paribas and Mediocredito Centrale on a €24 million project financing to Andion CH4 (Andion), aimed at the construction of a biomethane production plant from agricultural waste in Mirandola (Modena), Emilia-Romagna (Northen Italy).
BNL BNP Paribas acted as Mandated Lead Arranger, Original Lender and Facility Agent, and Mediocredito Centrale acted as Original Lender.
Andion is a European biogas company that develops, designs, builds, operates, and owns renewable energy infrastructure converting organic waste into biogas and biomethane. Operating across Italy and Northern Europe, Andion delivers engineered solutions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions by replacing fossil energy and preventing the release of methane from waste, one of the most potent climate pollutants.
The financing fits into Andion's industrial strategy to create an infrastructural platform dedicated to the development, construction, and management of anaerobic digestion plants for low carbon biomethane production.
The Milan-based Norton Rose Fulbright team advising on this transaction was led by partner Arturo Sferruzza, head of the firm's banking and energy practices in Italy, supported by associates Giulio Mariano and Mattia Musella for the financial aspects of the transaction, and senior associate Stefania Casini for administrative law matters.
