UNM's central campus to experience high traffic and road closures April 5-6

UNM Parking & Transportation Services (UNM PATS) expects high traffic and road closures on Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6, because of multiple events.

Here's what you need to know:

Saturday, April 5 - Special Events

  • Lobo Kids Triathlon, UNM Main campus - 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • Southwest Film Center presents Queer, Student Union Building - 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • August Wilson's Two Trains Running, Popejoy Hall - 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Road Delays for Saturday, April 5:
    • Traffic congestion along Redondo Drive around Johnson Field & Cornell parking structure for event parking

Sunday, April 6 - Special Events

  • Lobo Adults Triathlon, UNM Main campus - 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
    • All UNM campus entrances will be CLOSED for the duration of the Lobo Adults Triathlon
    • Vehicles will not be allowed on the Main campus from 6 am to 10:30 am on Sunday, April 6. Vehicles on campus prior to 6 am will not be allowed to leave until 10:30 am. The only exception is access to the Lomas Parking Structure as detailed below.
    • Campus Residents may not move their vehicles from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
    • Campus entrances will reopen at 10:30 a.m. after Lobo Triathlon has concluded
    • Access to the Lomas parking structure will still be available to UNM & UNMH permit holders from the Girard and Campus intersection (going westbound on Campus Boulevard). There will be a one-way exit from the Lomas parking structure westbound (right turn only) on Campus to Lomas.

  • The Comedy of Errors, Popejoy Hall - 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Road Delays for Sunday, April 6:
    • Traffic congestion along Redondo Drive around Johnson Field & Cornell parking structure for event parking

Event parking not permitted for:

  • R-lot or S (Lomas parking structure)

Alternative routes/parking

  • Yale parking structure, located near Yale & Lomas Boulevard
  • PATS enforcement officers will be on site to provide traffic and permit control.
