IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 15, 2026 RPNM Chairwoman Barela's statement on U.S. Attorney, Ryan Ellison Albuquerque, NM - Today's statement from RPNM Chairwoman, Amy Barela, on a federal judge's ruling regarding New Mexico's top federal law enforcement official, First Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison. "Yesterday's federal court order made it clear that Ryan Ellison is not disqualified from serving in his role and is properly carrying out the duties of the U.S. Attorney's Office," said Chairwoman Barela. "This decision affirms the validity of Mr. Ellison's designation as First Assistant U.S. Attorney and his commitment to public safety that benefits all New Mexicans. Ryan Ellison has done exactly what he was put in his position to do - responsibly, respectfully, and in a non-partisan manner by following the rule of law. New Mexicans deserve effective leadership that focuses on securing our state first, not political theater aimed at undermining justice." ### |
