On Friday, September 19, the City of Tuscaloosa held the fourth annual Employee Excellence Awards at the Tuscaloosa River Market.
"Each year, it is my honor to celebrate our City employees who go above and beyond every day to make Tuscaloosa what it is," said Mayor Walt Maddox. "Their unwavering commitment to serve truly makes a difference in our community."
The Excellence Awards program was developed to recognize City of Tuscaloosa employees who show exemplary individual achievement, contribution and performance in their jobs.
"The annual Employee Excellence Awards ceremony allows us the opportunity to recognize and honor deserving employees for all of their hard work," LaShonda Kemp, Chief Human Resources Officer said. "We're committed to continuing this tradition in order to celebrate those who make a difference for our City."
Employees were honored in multiple categories including: 25, 30 and 35 years of service; Cheers for Peers; Excellence Awards; Mayor's Excellence Awards; and Emerging Leaders.
The City recognized over 80 employees during this event.
