President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas, Juozas Olekas, who is visiting Ukraine for the first time in this capacity.
The Head of State thanked the President, the Government, and the Parliament of Lithuania for their consistent support of Ukraine.

"We are grateful for your military support - 0.25% of your budget. You have sent a signal to some other countries, which have started considering ways to strengthen Ukraine by allocating a percentage of their GDP and defense budgets. This is important. We are also thankful that we can count on your support next year," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.The meeting also focused on implementing the PURL and SAFE initiatives, opportunities for joint weapons production, and Lithuania's investments in the development of Ukraine's defense industry.
In addition, they discussed strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia and preparing the 20th EU sanctions package. It is important to introduce new restrictions against the banking sector, the shadow fleet, and Russian propagandists, as well as to prevent attempts to bypass sanctions.
Particular attention was given to supporting Ukraine's European integration, including the launch of the first negotiation cluster.
The Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas stressed continued support for Ukraine and noted that he plans to participate in the parliamentary summit of the International Crimea Platform, to be held in November in Stockholm.
"We advocate for stronger sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine - military, economic, and political. Of course, we also confirm this in our international negotiations," Juozas Olekas said.
The President and the Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas also discussed diplomatic efforts. Juozas Olekas emphasized the importance of a reliable and lasting peace for Ukraine.
