Amo Statement Marking One-Month Anniversary of Tragic Brown Shooting

Providence, RI - TODAY, Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI) released the following statement to mark the one-month anniversary of the horrific shooting at Brown University that killed two students and injured nine more:

"One month after the shooting at Brown University, my heart remains with the victims, Ella Cook and Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov, their families, survivors, and our Rhode Island community.

I am deeply grateful to the countless community members and local leaders - from police and firefighters to medical professionals and local businesses - who responded during and after the shooting. Their willingness to step up reminded us of what community truly means. Students are returning to classes next week and I remain committed to supporting students, faculty, staff, and our entire community.

As we continue to heal, we are painfully aware that far too many communities are impacted by gun violence. That is why I will keep fighting for commonsense gun safety measures, to honor those we've lost, and work to ensure this never happens in another community."
