JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid-Missouri area Aug. 31 - Sept. 6 , 2026.
Most routine work zones will be removed for the Labor Day holiday, but some long-term work zones and closures will remain in place. Except for emergencies, work will stop at noon on Friday, Sept. 4, and resume the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 8 .
In addition to the work listed below, other moving operations such as pothole patching, mowing, brush cutting, striping, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
As part of the Improve I- 70 program , i ntermittent and long-term single-lane closures can be expected on I nterstate 70 . Width restrictions will vary , depending on location. Check restrictions before travel.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Boone County
Route 124 - Resurfacing continue s from U.S. Route 63 to Missouri Route 240 in Howard County . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route AC - Pedestrian facility upgrades continue from Missouri Route 163 (Providence Road) to U.S. 63. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities, turning restrictions, and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2026.
Route PP (Clark Lane) - CLOS ED at the intersection with Hanover Boulevard for roundabout co nstruction. T he business entrance just west of the intersection is closed, but the entrance on Hanover Boulevard to the same business will remain open. The closure is expected to continue through October 2026 .
Providence Road - CLOSED over I-70 for bridge construction. All ramps at Providence Road (Exit 126) are closed for the duration of the bridge construction . The new bridge is expected to open in late October 2026.* *
Routes J and O (Exit 117) - Westbound I-70 ramps at Exit 117 are CLOSED . This closure restricts a ccess to and from Routes J and O as listed below . The ramp closure s are expected to continue through the end of November 2026 . **
T he following traffic impacts and detours are in place:
I-70 Drive Southeast - CLOSED from just west of Woodridge Drive to Glenstone Drive for construction of a new underpass. The entrance to Woodridge Drive from I-70 Drive Southeast is also closed . A signed detour directs motorists around the closure. The roadway is expected to reopen in January 2027.* *
North Outer Road 70 - CLOSED at Cedar Creek, west of Callaway County Route J (near mile marker 136.6). Signs are located ahead of the closure to a lert motorists to use an alternate route for the duration of the closure, which is expected through January 2027. **
Callaway County
Route 94 - Pavement repairs planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 from Route D to Route P in Montgomery County . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route s HH and PP - Preventative maintenance scheduled Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone s .
Eastbound I-70 on-ramp (Exit 144) - The ramp to eastbound I-70 from Route M/Hatton at Exit 144 is CLOSED . The ramp closure is expected to continue through October. Motorists must use an alternate route. **
Eastbound I-70 off-ramp (Exit 148) - The ramp from eastbound I-70 to U.S. 54 at Exit 148 is CLOSED . The ramp closure is expected to continue through October. Motorists must use an alternate route. **
Route W - (Airport Road) - T emporary traffic signals are in place to m aintain traffic through the single-lane work zone for ramp con struction as part of the U.S. 54 pavement widening project. This p ortion of the project is scheduled for completion in Octo ber 2026.
North Outer Road 70 - CLOSED at Cedar Creek, west of Route J (near mile marker 136.6). S igns ar e located ahead of the closure to alert motorist s to use an alternate route for the duration of the closure, which is expected through January 2027. **
U.S. 54 - Pavement widening continues from U.S. 63 to the Missouri River Bridge. Narrowed lanes with a 10-foot width restriction and reduced speed limits are in place . The project is scheduled for completion in May 2027.
Camden County
Route BB - Culvert replacement planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . at Camden Line Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. 54 - Guardrail instillation continues nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Case Road to Route KK. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. 54 - Resurfacing continues nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Route Y near Linn Creek to Route 5 in Camdenton . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 7 - CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over Murphy Creek between Route T and the city of Richland. A signed detour is in place to direct motorists around the closure via Routes T and H. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2026.
U.S. 54 - Pavement widening and driveway entrance improvements continue in Camdenton. Traffic is shifted between Business Route 5 and Bumper Hill Road, with one lane open in each direction, but no center turn lane. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2027 .
Cole County
Outer Road 50 (Missouri Boulevard) - A pavement widening, signal installation, and sidewalk extension project continues. One eastbound lane of Missouri Boulevard will be closed during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, between South Ten Mile Drive and east of Wildwood Drive. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2027.
Cooper County
Route F - CLOSED for culvert replacement Aug. 31 from Route B to Old Concord Road. The roadway wil l be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorist must use an alternate route .
Route EE - Pavement repairs planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route O - Shoulder work planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 from Route H to the city limits of California. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
I-70 - Pavement widening continues from Route 5 in Boonville (mile marker 101) to the Missouri River bridge (mile marker 115) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect nightly lane closures in both directions with an 11-foot width restriction. **
Crawford County
Route H - Culvert replacement planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . approximately 2 miles south of I-44 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route M - Pavement repairs planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone .
Route ZZ - Roadside work planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes DD and ZZ - Guardrail improvements continue in preparation for p reventative maintenance. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone s . This portion of the project is scheduled for completion in September 2026.
Dent County
Route 72 - Bridge maintenance scheduled to begin Aug. 31 over Dry Fork Creek, just north of Montauk. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2026.
Route 119 - Bridge maintenance continues over Pigeon Creek , just north of Montauk . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2026.
Route 32 - Resurfacing continues east of Salem as the project continues toward Iron County Route KK. A 10-foot width restriction is in place around-the-clock for the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed in September 2026.
Routes 19 and 32 - Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in the city limits of Salem. Minimal traffic impacts are expected during the project which is expected to be completed in September 2026.
Gasconade County
Route Y - Pavement repairs planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Howard County
Route 5 - Roadside work planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . from Stage Coach Road to Broadway Street in the city limits of New Franklin . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 240 - Shoulder work planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 , at County Road 419 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 124 - Resurfacing continues from Route 240 in Fayette to U.S. 63 in Boone County . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Laclede County
Route AA - Pavement repairs planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route BB - Culvert replacement planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . at Camden Line Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Maries County
Routes H and V - Pavement repairs planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Miller County
Route H - Pavement repairs planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route WW and Bagnall Dam Boulevard - Pavement repairs planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Route D - Roadside work planned Sept. 1 at Ballard Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Moniteau County
Route C - Pavement repairs planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 from Route CC to Route 52 in Morgan County. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route O - Shoulder work planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 from the city limits of California to Route H in Cooper County. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes BB and NN - Preventative maintenance scheduled to begin Sept. 2. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zones. This project is scheduled for completion in September 2026.
Morgan County
Route JJ - Preventative maintenance scheduled to begin Aug. 31 from Route D to Route 135. One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. This project is scheduled for completion in September 2026.
Route C - Pavement repairs planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 from Route 52 to Route CC in Moniteau County . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Osage County
U.S. 50 - Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Linn at Route CC . Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2026.
Phelps Co u nt y
Routes C, CC, and T - Pavement repairs planned Sept. 1 - 3 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Business Loop 44/Route 72/ Kingshighway - A bridge rehabilitation project over I-44 continues . O ne eastbound lane will remain open with a 12-foot width restriction . The bridge is CLOSE D to all westbound traffic, and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2026.
U.S. 63 - Bridge rehabilitation continues over Little Piney Creek near Yancy Mills. Temporary traffic signals are be ing used to maintain traffic through the single-lane work zone. A 10-foot width restriction is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2026.
Route BB (10th Street) - Bridge rehabilitation continues over BNSF Railway in Rolla. One lane each direction will remain open, with no center turn lane. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2026.
Pulaski County
Route 28 - Culvert replacement planned Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 in the city limits of Dixon at Chestnut Street. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Spur 44 (Missouri Avenue) - Pedestrian facility upgrades continue from east of St. Robert Boulevard to Gateway Circle in St. Robert. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone . The project is scheduled for completion in October 2026.
I-44 - Ramp CLOSED from eastbound I-44 to Lo op 44 (Historic Route 66) at Exit 159 through mid-November as part of a pavement widening project on I-44 .
Route 7 - CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over I-44 (Exit 150). A signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2026.
I-44 - A pavement widening project from just east of Exit 156 in Waynesville to Exit 159 in St. Robert is underway . Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures in both directions from Exit 169 to Exit 150 , including a single-lane closure for eastbound traffic through mid-August . Th e project has an overall completion date in 2027.
Washington Count y
Route U - Preventative maintenance scheduled Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . One lane will remain open and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone.
Route T - Pavement repairs planned Aug. Aug. 31 - Sept. 3 . One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone .
Route 185 - CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over Swan Branch. A signed detour is in place to direct motorists around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2026.
Route 8 - Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Union Pacific Railroad. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane with traffic signals . Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in early October 2026.
