Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd.), chaired a Public Day programme held at his office in Colombo today (17 June).
During the session attention was given to matters related to welfare assistance, housing, medical support, employment opportunities, and other service. The Deputy Minister attentively listened to the concerns raised by individuals and directed the relevant officials to take prompt action to address them.
This public day event provided an opportunity for members of the public, serving and retired Tri-Forces personnel, and their family members to present their concerns and grievances directly to the Deputy Minister.
The Public Day programme forms part of the Ministry of Defence's ongoing efforts to maintain close engagement with the public and ensure the timely resolution of issues affecting serving and retired military personnel and their families.
