MNPD Placing No Charges Relating to May 30 Altercations at Storage Facility

After discussion with the District Attorney's Office, the MNPD is not placing any charges in relation to May 30 altercations on the property of Extra Space Storage on Charlotte Pike involving Tyler Flanagan, 27, and Jeremiah Hendricks, 35.

The investigation shows that Flanagan and a friend had words with Hendricks and his co-workers from a moving company. Flanagan and the friend accused Hendricks and the co-workers of using transphobic slurs, while Hendricks and the co-workers accused Flanagan and the friend of using racially insulting language. Surveillance video shows Flanagan throwing a milkshake toward Hendricks. Surveillance video a short time later shows Hendricks striking Flanagan in the office area with his open hand.

In discussion with the District Attorney's Office, both parties will be given the opportunity of privately prosecuting the other by appearing before a judicial commissioner. The police department will assist both parties in navigating the process if they elect to move forward.
